Hastings Young People Celebrated at Youth Awards

Youth Awards

Hastings Youth Awards and Hastings Got Culture came together at the White Rock Theatre on Sunday 7th October. Over 250 people attended the special youth awards ceremony which was opened by the Mayor, Cllr Alan Roberts and was organised by the Youth Council supported by Hastings Borough Council and Hastings and District Interfaith Forum, with additional sponsorship from East Sussex Council for Voluntary Youth Service. The awards ceremony was to recognise the hard work, outstanding contribution and achievement of local young people and the tremendous efforts youth groups provide for communities in the Hastings and Rother.

Hastings Got Culture provided entertainment which interspersed the awards with a variety of lively youth performances highlighting the diversity of local communities. Lead member for community services, Cllr Kim Forward said: “This was a brilliant event bringing together many young people to reward them for their creativity and efforts within their local communities. Awards were given to twenty individuals and fifteen groups during the celebration. Congratulations to them all!”
